While we are on the topic of Charlotteville. I took this picture using my phone's panoramic view on my birthday last year :) This is Fort Campbellton, Charlotteville, Tobago. It must have been the perfect day because this picture is perfect. Fort Campbellton According to visittobago.gov.tt this is NOT a fort despite commonly being called "Fort Campbellton". It is in fact a Battery. Batteries were positioned in various bays where sugar was loaded on the island. This battery of two guns was erected in 1777 during the American War of Independence when American privateers were raiding British islands.
