"The Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament began in 1995 as a loosely organized, just-for-kicks fishing tournament staged out of Pigeon Point, Tobago. Only a handful of boats participated but it proved to be the start of something that has endured and grown well beyond those humble beginnings.

Now relocated to the north end of Tobago in the wonderfully friendly village of Charlotteville, the Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament pulls in anglers from near and far; from the Caribbean to North and South America, even as far as Europe, the tournament draws big game fisherman who can appreciate great camaraderie, competition and fishing conditions."

While we  are on the topic of Charlotteville.  I took this picture using my  phone's panoramic view on  my birthday last year :) This is Fort Campbellton,  Charlotteville, Tobago.  It must have been the perfect day because this picture is perfect. Fort Campbellton According to visittobago.gov.tt this is NOT a fort despite commonly being called "Fort Campbellton". It is in fact a Battery. Batteries were positioned in various bays where sugar was loaded on the island. This battery of two guns was erected in 1777 during the American War of Independence when American privateers were raiding British islands. The THA sought to preserve the rights of the Tobago public, while enabling the various interest groups maximum scope and opportunity for development.  The estate is situated at the  south western peninsula of Tobago  and comprises of : a beach front Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool on the North-West side  and the wetlands and forested area on the South-East side.  The Park has been celebrated internationally. Tobago's natural beauty and unique culture have helped to shape the character and a number of artwork pieces of Trinidad-born, Tobago-bred artist Nazim Baksh. Nazim moved to Louis Dor, Tobago when he was 6 years old. Living in “country”, as locals fondly call the rural Windward side of the island, has left him with a number of fond memories of life in the village and at Delaford AC Primary School. He has a very vivid recollection of a number of entertaining episodes of an exciting yet very simple life in the countryside. Having excelled at the Common Entrance examinations Nazim was awarded a pass to attend the prestigious Bishop’s High School located in the main town of Scarborough. To ease the burden of travelling the long distance he and his family relocated to urban Tobago. Therefore a variety of experiences spanning over 30 years of residing on the both ends of Tobago have afforded Nazim the opportunity to observe, share in, and depict Tobago’s culture vibrantly thro
